Case Studies

Scenario 1

Burger Patriot Restaurant is launching its line of veggie burgers and turkey burgers, and is thus attracting new, health-conscious clientele. A nutritionist has analyzed the new and existing food items, and the information is available on their site as a PDF download. What can we do for Burger Patriot to maximize awareness, sales, and success?

  1. Create an interactive user interface on their web site such that customers can "build their own burger," item by item, and immediately get an analysis of the whole meal, based on their specific choices.
  2. Create a form whereby customers enter in data such as their weight, age, gender, height, and weight goals, and the web site will provide the customers their calorie, fat, protein, carbohydrate, and other nutrient goals for the day; the customer may print out the report.
  3. Provide a series of database-driven suggestions based on customer input. For example, the customer may enter in, as a lunch choice, a supersized beefburger with extra mayo and a large order of French Fries and an apple pie. Based on the customer's goals, the site program may suggest specific changes to meet nutrient goals, such as ordering a veggie burger with lettuce, tomato, mustard, and ketchup, with roasted potatoes and a side salad and a reduced fat and sugar apple crisp, then showing the calorie, fat, and carbohydrate savings resulting from this choice.
  4. Place a form on the web site that allows the collection of demographic information and email addresses. This information may be used for market research, customer feedback, and contact information for future communication, such as email newsletters, promotional coupons, and announcements.

BENEFITS:

  • New customer database, allowing for better communication both to and from customers
  • Increased customer loyalty
  • Increased customer confidence
  • Successful acquisition of the health-conscious consumer market
  • Increased sales

Scenario 2

Got a Lot to Lose Weight Loss Clinic is having some challenges with client management, client retention, and new client attainment. Their clients get easily discouraged and feel that they cannot afford to attend as often as they need to in order to reach their goals. As a result, several patients have left the practice. What can we do for Got a Lot to Lose?

  1. Team up with one of our partner organizations to completely overhaul the client management system: entirely web-based on a secure server with easily accessible databases of important information.
  2. Create a login area for clients so that they can track their diets, download meal plans, set and track fitness goals, and read motivational tips to keep them on the road to success.
  3. Create a login area for staff members whereby they may check on client status, send email reminders, and run statistical reports on data collected (such as number of visits, number of new patients over time, number of dropped patients over time, etc.)
  4. Create a communications system whereby staff members can set up live chats with clients between visits, offering additional support and motivation.
  5. Implement features such as an email newsletter, polls, quizzes, recipes, a discussion board, and more.

BENEFITS:

  • Implementation of an extremely cost-effective system
  • More effective communication among staff as well as among clients
  • More affordable yet value-added services for clients
  • Increased rate of retention
  • Increased client motivation
  • Increased client satisfaction
  • Increased rate of new clients
